New book work…

I’ve nearly finished my book on the Kriegsmarine Security Flotillas. It’s been quite a story with so many ships and people to try and do justice to. It’s supposed to be 100,000 to 110,000-or-so words. So far it’s at 140,000 with a 30,000 word Appendix. I suspect I will have to get the scalpel on to it shortly 🙂

As well as the biography of Otto Kretschmer that I’m not working on I have also just signed a contract for  a history of the Brandenburger Regiment. This will be my first non-Kriegsmarine book and I’m really looking forward to it. Germany’s commandos…these guys are very interesting and I’ve just been walking in their footsteps during some of my time in Greece where I was teaching scuba diving. Great stuff.

So…onwards with the one I’m finishing and then two more for completion next year.
