D-Day

Today is the anniversary of the most famous of the Allied D-Days when troops landed on the Normandy coastline and inland by parachute. A massively ambitious undertaking that took a terrible toll on troops of all nationalities that took part on both sides of the battle that followed. But, hindsight tells us of course that it was ultimately a success and marked the beginning of the end for the German forces in Western Europe.

An important day to remember.

Today also marks my own more trivial D-Day as my latest book is released by The History Press. ‘Steel and Ice’ is now on sale.
